Psalm 46: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
Jun 21, 2026 / Matt Prine
PRAY:
- What storm is raging in your life right now? What fears have gripped your heart? Give those to the Lord in prayer using the words of vv. 2-3. "Lord, I will not fear though my family feels like it is falling apart..." or "Lord, I will not fear though it feels like everything in my life is on shaky ground."
- Spend a moment thanking the Lord that HE is your refuge, strength, and very present help. Ask Him to show you where you may be seeking refuge elsewhere - and then repent of that.
PRAY:
- Thank the Lord that He alone is the true source of lasting joy and satisfaction. Ask the Holy Spirit to satisfy your heart with His presence.
- Pray specifically for an area of your life that currently feels unstable or overwhelming. Ask the Lord to help you remember that in Christ, you will not be moved because He holds you fast.
- Ask God to help you live in such a way that others see your hope and stability in Christ, even when life is difficult. Pray that your life would point to the satisfaction, stability and security found only in Jesus.
PRAY:
- Thank the Lord that He is sovereign over every storm and every enemy. Ask Him to help you see His power and faithfulness more clearly, especially when it's feels like you're alone.
- If you are in a storm or struggle right now, pray specifically about that. Ask the Lord to speak "Be still" over that situation and to help you rest in the truth that He is God and He will be exalted.
- Ask God to help you hold firm in the middle of your storm so that others see your hope and trust in Christ. Pray that your life would point people to the sufficiency and power of Jesus.
