Psalm 1: A Tale of Two Trees

FIRST PRAYER TIME:

• Confess where you have sought delight outside of God’s Word
• Ask God to show you the happiness that springs from delighting in His Word.
• Personalize these verses for your neighbor and and pray for them by name:
  • “Father, let Dawson delight in the Law of the Lord!”
  • “Lord, keep Connor from the counsel of the wicked”
  • “God, help Haley to meditate on Your Word!”

• Pray for a Hunger for the Word.
• Pray for the Lord to plant you by streams of water so that you might be fruitful, making disciples and growing the Kingdom.
• Ask the Lord to reveal areas of your life were you are still clinging onto the “old forms.” Ask Him to gently break those from your life and spread your roots in good soil.

• If you are a believer, thank the Lord that He “knows your way” and wants to make you fruitful. Commit yourself to cooperating with His plans in your life.
• Pray for those in your life who do not know and follow Jesus. Ask the Lord to give you opportunities to share the gospel with them and that they might be spared from the wrath to come.
